Who must post?

“Canning, Freezing, and Preserving Industry” means any industry, business or establishment operated for the purpose of canning soups, or of cooking, canning, curing, freezing, pickling, salting, bottling, preserving, or otherwise processing any fruits or vegetables, seafood, meat, poultry, or rabbit product, when the purpose of such processing is the preservation of the product and includes all operations incidental thereto.

What is the Industrial Welfare Commission?

It is the continuing duty of the Industrial Welfare Commission to ascertain the wages paid to all employees in this state, to ascertain the hours and conditions of labor and employment in the various occupations, trades, and industries in which employees are employed in this state, and to investigate the health, safety, and welfare of those employees. The IWC has mandated that the wage orders must be posted in an area frequented by employees, where they can be seen and easily read. These postings are state-mandated and the poster must be displayed alongside State and Federal labor law postings.

IWC wage orders, which govern wages, hours, and working conditions in California, are in effect and must be posted by all employers in an area frequented by employees, where they may be easily read during the workday.
